The Cape
About This Spot
Stepping into The Cape feels a bit like coming home to a well-loved corner of the world where the pace softens and the morning light lingers a little longer. Nestled in Beaconsfield, this spot strikes a gentle balance between cozy café and spirited neighborhood hub. The warmth from the friendly faces behind the counter weaves seamlessly with the subtle hum of conversation, creating a relaxed atmosphere where both longtime locals and curious newcomers find their rhythm.
The space itself holds quiet surprises — from the inviting seating towards the back to the thoughtful, evocative touches of South African flair that linger in its artwork and mood. Here, every visit hints at discovery: whether you’re easing into the day over a perfectly brewed cappuccino or catching up with friends sharing a plate of something freshly prepared just for you.
What makes The Cape linger in memory isn’t just the food—though that’s certainly part of its charm. It’s the way the menu unfolds like a story, blending the comfort of classic breakfast staples with the distinct character of South African flavors. You might find yourself savoring the gentle crumb of a warm fruit scone beside a pot of loose-leaf tea, or drawn to the humble-but-exceptional roasted sandwiches that carry a hint of sunshine from afar. It’s a place where the everyday rises to something a little more thoughtful through the care of the kitchen and the genuine attentiveness of the team.
Such subtle attentiveness shapes the spirit of The Cape — from the ease with which you’re welcomed to the unhurried moments you spend lingering over coffee or a late brunch. It’s this sense of being looked after that invites repeat visits, whether for a quiet start to your morning or a relaxed midday pause amid the buzz of Beaconsfield’s streets.

As always excellent food in a friendly atmosphere, but what brings us back regularly is the warm welcome and exceptional level of customer service that we recieve from Laura. It is always a pleasure to see you and we thank you so much for consistently looking after us so attentively.

Lovely decor/interior which makes a cozy atmosphere. Such high quality foods and very appetizing. Have been several times and would definitely return in the future. Can get very busy - so I would recommend booking a table in advance (if on busy days - like the weekends)

A mixture of Britian and South African. As a South African traveling around the UK, it was kind of ironic that I stumbled into this small little restaurant. It did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing or should I say lekker. I had a cup of English breakfast tea and the vegan club sandwich. The artwork in the front of the restaurant is absolutely stunning and is a definite reminder of home. The restaurant was very busy. They have an all day breakfast every Saturday and Sunday. I recommend booking in advance.

Superb place for brunch. It looks small from the outside but is surprisingly large and spacious when you go through to the back of the restaurant. The menu is perfect for brunch with a great choice of South African dishes. We had a delicious Royale which was served on home made Cape Seed loaf. The coffee was excellent. It was good value for money. We booked a table via their website. It starts to get busy by 10 am so this is advisable

As expats, this was a recommendation, and all I can say is.... WOW! This was quite possibly the best breakfast I've ever had! The service, the staff and cafe/restaurant was bang on. Staff knew the menu well, so recommendations was easy (and nostalgic). A must if you're in the area, and if opportunity presents itself, we'll definitely be back!

Had a very nostalgic but delicious sandwich on Cape seed loaf. Will definitely go back to try other options on the menu, they sounded and looked delicious.
